There are numerous casinos located in the commonwealth, most on moored riverboats. The largest of the Iowa gambling halls is the Meswaki Bingo Casino Hotel, an Amerindian gambling hall in Tama, with 127,669 sq.ft. of gambling area, 1,500 slots, 30 table games, such as 21, craps, roulette, and baccarat, and numerous varieties of poker; including three restaurants, biweekly shows, and gaming lessons. A further large Amerindian gambling den is the Winna Vegas, with 45,000 sq.ft., 668 slots, and 14 table games. In addition, the Ameristar Casino Hotel in Council Bluffs is open 24 hours, with 38,500 square feet, 1,589 one armed bandits, 36 table games, and 4 dining rooms. There are many other dominant Iowa gambling halls, which includes Harrah’s Council Bluffs, with 28,250 square feet, 1,212 slot machines, and 39 table games.

A tinier Iowa gambling den is the Diamond Jo, a water based gambling hall in Dubuque, with 17,813 sq.ft., 776 slots, and 19 table games. The Catfish Bend Riverboat, in Fort Madison, with 13,000 sq.ft., 535 slots, and 14 table games. Another Iowa river boat gambling den, The Isle of Capri, is available never closes, with 24,939 square feet, 1,100 slot machines, and 24 table games. The Mississippi Belle II, a 10,577 sq.ft. riverboat gambling hall in Clinton, has 506 slot machines, 14 table games, live productions, and Thursday twenty-one events.

Iowa casinos offer a great amount of tax money to the commonwealth of Iowa, which has allowed the budgeting of many commonwealth wide projects. Visitors have grown at a rapid rate accompanied with the requirement for processors and an increase in employment. Iowa gambling halls have been instrumental to the expansion of the market, and the excitement for gaming in Iowa is absolute.
